How Technology Allows Us to Explore Famous Structures

Technology has brought us several ways to explore our world. The advancements in Internet speed over the last decade have allowed us to share an enormous amount of information that was only a dream a few decades ago. Virtual reality is one exciting technology; while it's only in the early stages, the way we view the world has changed. It helped us to explore places in three-dimensional space without leaving the comfort of our home.

Google is one of the companies that has adopted this technology and uses Virtual Reality in Streetview and YouTube. Streetview allows users to explore buildings from the street and features 360 panorama interiors of buildings shared by other users. Streetview has several famous facilities available to view in their library.

Youtube is another platform that allows users to explore buildings using 360-degree virtual reality. Unlike Streetview, youtube features 360-degree videos of buildings instead of still photos. There are several virtual tours available on youtube. Still, it is not as extensive compared to what is available in Streetview.

As processing power and internet connection continue to advance, we will see more improvements in the quality of 360 panoramas in the next few years. As of writing, only 3D rendered virtual reality has interactive features. Maybe in a couple of years, technology can provide us with interactive virtual reality.
