House DL15 - Modern Three Story Residential Building

Project: House DL15 Year: 2015 Floor Area: 440 m ² Lot Area: 363 m ² A modern three-story house in Cebu City draws inspiration from Modern Scandinavian and Bauhaus designs. The house's layout was designed to maximize the steep downhill slope while minimizing excavation to the existing terrain.  The house has an open floor plan layout that connects the living, dining, and kitchen area into one open space. Upon entering the foyer, a double-height ceiling in the living room is the first thing you see. Large sliding windows and doors engulf the interior with natural light. The sliding doors in the dining area and kitchen connect the interior to the terrace, increasing the ground floor's usable floor area. All the bedrooms are on the second floor, and each bedroom has its bathroom. The lower ground floor has a large lanai with a dining and living area. The ground floor covers the lanai, which provides a spacious outdoor space protected from the heat and weather. The lanai is open on

Deshaker Stabilizing Sulotion to your Handheld Videos

Lately I have been exploring the world of HD video using my DSLR. My fascination in video started when I attended a wedding and saw the works presented by those professional video and photographers. I was amazed on how they managed to create an incredible output using their DSLR. Although I don't have any plans on pursuing video/photographer as a career, I became interested in the video capabilities since I am the unofficial video/photographer in my family. The first time I used my DSLR to take full hd videos, I was disappointed with the results. Most of the videos I took handheld were too shaky. I usually shot my videos at the tele end of my lens which increased the shakiness of my videos. After a couple more tries on shooting videos I eventually gave up on it since I thought all my videos were unusable due to the shakiness of the output.

Unique Shop Designs

Shop designs are essential to attract the right customers. Having an eye-catching interesting design for a store can draw the attention of curious people who may eventually be potential customers. A good shop design attracts attention and highlights the products it sells. I've explored some remarkable shops with unique designs that will probably make people passing by these stores take a second look. Some of these shops use normal materials in an innovative way and some are just out of the box designs. Karis I like the innovative use of paper tubes that resemble stalactites in a cave. Stunning Living Paintings by Alexa Meade

Painters usually project what they see in a canvas. They create art by painting and interpreting what they see. There are some who create realistic paintings and others who create abstract paintings. Each artist has his or her own preference for how they want to express their art. One artist I've found is doing something unique compared to what most painters do.

Unique Interiors - Bathrooms

Bathroom designs with pocket gardens and skylights have always fascinated me. The merging of interior and exterior spaces gives an open, relaxing, and bright ambiance from these spaces. Even though people spend less time in these rooms, the design of these spaces is just as important as any other space in the house. We usually use this space at the start of the day and our mood during these hours will affect how the rest of the day will turn out.  Image Source:  http://multimedianimasi.blogspot.com

Small Apartment Transformer

The common problem of urban centers is the scarcity of space. Most people live in tiny apartments due to the expensive cost. Gary Chang An Architect from Hong Kong has designed his apartment in such a way that it will revolutionize how we can maximize small spaces.

Modern Tree Houses

Some of the most interesting designs I've seen are the ones that veer away from the norm. They create unique designs by creating unusual solutions. Treehouses are one of the interesting types of buildings we need to explore. Green architecture is gaining popularity with the public. Building a structure around a tree instead of cutting it down is becoming common. It is one-way architects can help preserve the environment.

Exceptional Digitat Art

Art is the expression of a person's emotion through the medium that person chooses. It may be through music, literature, photography, oil in the canvass, or other means. The medium is only the artist's instrument, which allows him or her to share his creative thoughts with others. Technology has provided us with more tools to express ourselves. I have always been a visual person, and most of the art that I appreciate is visual. Most of the excellent artists that I know can create works of art in whatever medium they provide. Amazing Future Homes

I was browsing through Forbes for some interesting article about investments and found this interesting article about future homes. This was the last place I thought I could find architecture and design related articles but the slides really caught my interest. Tornado-Proof Home Designed by Ted Givens of 10Design

Glass House

Every culture has their limits when it comes to the privacy of their home. In some places people don't rely on fence to secure their home and privacy from prying eyes. In other areas people put up tall concrete walls which are sometime even taller than the house. A lot of circumstances are considered which determines how open people are with their homes. In my country most people usually put up fences around their houses to prevent others from entering the premises of their home. It also serves as a way for them to prevent others from seeing what happens inside the premises. Since the majority of the homes here have small lots, almost all homes maximize the lot for their home which in turn lessens the easement between the house and the road. Designed By Architect Philip Johnson I always wanted to live in a house which has a lot of glass. I've made a lot of conceptual designs but most of these designs are too expensive and are inapplicable here in the Philippines. Asi

Incredible animation of Superman Vs Hulk

A while ago I was browsing Youtube for a trailer of the new superman movie. I bumped into an animation created by  mhabjan . I watched the entire animation, and I was very impressed by its quality.  I assumed the animation was done by a team of 3d artists. It was only when I read the description that I discovered that mhabjan  was the only one working on this project. This has made it even more impressive. It took him about eight months to finish the animation. It must have taken him a great deal of patience to accomplish this feat. You can visit his channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/mhabjan

Extreme Cantilever Homes

Every time I see an extreme home I always wonder why architects go out of their way to achieve these feats. It must have taken guts on the part of the client to go with the daring designs of the architect.  I usually get inspired looking through their designs. Designed by  Natkevicus   Lately I've been fascinated with houses designed to have extreme cantilevers. I've browsed through a lot of houses with extreme cantilevers and each one of these have their own approach on solving the long spans of their cantilever.

Pleasing Visit to the Dentist.

Yesterday I had to visit the dental clinic to have my teeth cleaned. I avoid these visits since all I could focus on was the blank ceiling and the drilling sound of grinding my teeth.  Even after several hours, the thought of the noise of the drill remains in my mind. Estudio De Arquitectura Hago After that long thirty minutes, I decided to look for other dental clinics that offered a better experience. While searching for other dental clinics, I stumbled upon numerous dental clinics that were both unique and interesting. The only problem was all these clinics were nowhere near where I live.

Modern Compact Homes

Decent shelter is a major problem here in the Philippines. Due to poverty a lot of families here have little access to a decent home. I've always wondered if there was a way to provide decent shelter at a minimal cost. Micro Compact Home  - Designed by:  Horden Cherry Lee Architects To achieve the least cost, the design of the house should maximize every inch of space. I've found a lot of ideas from the works of different architects.  Although designed by foreign architects, their designs are ideal for the shelter problem here in my country. Mobile homes or trailers are also a good inspiration to maximize space. These mobile homes are limited to the size of the roads.
